Description of the project:

With the initiative and support of the World Health Organization to introduce and promote health in schools in North Macedonia, the Global standards for schools that promote health are implemented in four pilot schools. The activities were in the direction of reinforcing Global standard 5, the integration of health principles were through the school program Global standard 5 which has an aim to ensure that the school program refers to physical, social, emotional and psychological aspects of health and welfare of students.

The promotion of health education was in a direction of improving knowledge, skills, attitudes and behavior of students. The focus was on the inclusive and participation methods of support to health,   welfare, social and emotional competence, equality, differences and critical thinking.

The improvements of health education, beliefs, attitudes and skills refer to the improvement of health among students, teachers and the whole community.

A prepared curriculum for a free elective subject for fourth and fifth grade I Study For My Health which includes the following topics:

• Mental health of students
• Food and regular diet
• Oral health
• Sports and physical activity
