Description of the project:

We are proud to announce that EduSkills Kriva Palanka is among the three grant winners for the EU Code Week International Grants for Grassroots Coding Projects 2025!
This grant is part of a European initiative that aims to foster coding skills, computational thinking, and digital literacy through activities involving communities, students, and teachers.
Implementation period: October 2025 – June 2026
Project: Code for Future: AI and Digital Skills Hub
Target group: teachers and students aged 6 to 15
Duration: 8 months
What we will achieve:
The project "Code for Future: AI and Digital Skills Hub" aims to create a local center for digital and AI skills in the Kriva Palanka region, through activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking among young people.
1. Preparation (October 2025)
• Development of a detailed plan for workshops, hackathons, and panel discussions
• Selection of schools and partners
• Initial promotion and information for teachers and students
2. Workshops and teacher engagement (November 2025 – February 2026)
• Implementation of 2 interactive workshops per month
• Topics: Scratch, Python, artificial intelligence, robotics, and project-based learning
• Formation of a network of 10 Code Week teacher leaders
• Development of digital resources and teaching materials
3. Hackathon “Code & AI for Education” (March 2026)
• Students and teachers will work in teams on innovative AI solutions and applications
• Encouraging teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving
4. Final activities (April – June 2026)
• Additional workshops with advanced practical projects
• Panel discussion “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Education”
• Presentation of student projects and awarding of awards to the most successful teachers and students
• Preparation of a final report and recommendations for sustainability
Expected results:
• 10 interactive workshops
• 1 local hackathon
• 1 public panel discussion
• Network of 10 Code Week leader teachers
• CodeWeek ambassador
• Digital teaching resources for coding and AI
• Increased motivation and involvement of students and teachers in the STEM field
Sustainability and impact:
This project lays the groundwork for long-term teacher collaboration and establishes a network to support coding and artificial intelligence activities beyond the end of the grant.
The project also aims to increase the inclusion of girls and underrepresented groups in STEM fields.
