We are proud to announce that Association for Education “EduSkills” – Kriva Palanka is among the selected grant winners of the EU Code Week International Grants for Grassroots Coding Projects 2025.
The grant is supported by JA Europe on behalf of the Code4Europe Consortium, as part of a wider European initiative aimed at strengthening coding skills, computational thinking, digital literacy and responsible use of technology among students, teachers and local communities.
The supported project, titled “Code for Future: AI and Digital Skills Hub”, will be implemented in the period October 2025 – June 2026 and will focus on teachers and students aged 6 to 15.
The main goal of the project is to create a local hub for digital and artificial intelligence skills in the Kriva Palanka region, encouraging curiosity, creativity, critical thinking and innovation among young people. Through practical and inclusive activities, the project will bring coding, robotics and artificial intelligence closer to students and teachers, while promoting STEM education and active participation in the digital society.
During the implementation period, the project will include a structured set of activities. In the preparation phase, a detailed plan for workshops, hackathons and panel discussions will be developed, together with the selection of schools and partners and initial promotion among teachers and students.
From November 2025 to February 2026, interactive workshops will be implemented with a focus on Scratch, Python, artificial intelligence, robotics and project-based learning. The project will also support the creation of a network of 10 Code Week teacher leaders, who will contribute to the development of digital resources and teaching materials.
In March 2026, the local hackathon “Code & AI for Education” will bring together students and teachers to work in teams on innovative digital and AI-based solutions. This activity will encourage teamwork, creativity, problem-solving and practical application of digital skills.
The final phase, from April to June 2026, will include additional advanced workshops, a public panel discussion titled “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Education”, presentation of student projects, recognition of successful teachers and students, and preparation of a final report with recommendations for sustainability.
The expected results of the project include:
- 10 interactive workshops;
- 1 local hackathon;
- 1 public panel discussion;
- a network of 10 Code Week teacher leaders;
- engagement of a Code Week ambassador;
- digital teaching resources for coding and AI;
- increased motivation and participation of students and teachers in STEM fields.
The project also aims to promote inclusion, with a special focus on encouraging the participation of girls and underrepresented groups in STEM and digital learning activities.
Through “Code for Future: AI and Digital Skills Hub”, EduSkills will contribute to building long-term cooperation among teachers, strengthening digital education at local level and creating sustainable opportunities for coding and artificial intelligence activities beyond the grant period.
We sincerely thank the EU Code Week Team, JA Europe and the Code4Europe Consortium for their trust and support. We also look forward to working with all teachers, students and partners who will be part of this journey towards a more creative, inclusive and digital future.
